Silver line Film Factory managed by S.Parthi and S.S Vaasan steps into cinema for the first time to produce the movie titled ‘Singam Puli’.

Directed by Sairamani the movie’s music is tuned by Manisharma.Puja of the movie was held at AVM old Pillayar Kovil today morning around 9-10.30 am.

For the first time Jeeva, the lead hero of the movie plays dual role. Divya Spandana is his lead pair. One character of Jiiva enacts a man who sells fish.Singam Puli is set to roll camera very soon!

Jiiva is one actor who's always ready to accept new and challenging roles. Siva Manasula Sakthi threw light on his abilities to excel in a light-hearted role with varied shades of emotions. Singam Puli story is racy

After a commercial outing in ‘Kacheri Aarambam’, Jeeva is working on ‘Singam Puli’, a film that will feature him in a dual role for the first time. For the actor will play the hero as well as villain in the movie directed by Sai Ramani.

‘Singam Puli’ features Divya Spandana and Soundarya as heroines. Produced by Silverline Film Factory, the film would have Santhanam, Ponvannan, Kuyili, Pandu, Meera Krishnan and Manickam Vinayakam as the supporting cast.

Says Jeeva, “I play a double role for the first time. The story is racy and interesting. It is a great delight to be part of the project. Acting in two different roles is no doubt a challenging task. I am enjoying it thoroughly.”

Apart from ‘Singam Puli’, Jeeva is currently acting in ‘Ko, Vandhan Vendran’ and ‘Roudram’. ‘Ko’ features him in the role of a photo-journalist and is directed by cinematographer-turned-filmmaker K V Anand.

For the first time in his career, Jeeva plays a dual role and is paired with Divya Spandana of Polladhavan fame. After the terrific success of Siva Manasula Sakthi, the Jeeva-Santhanam Jodi is all set to keep you in splits in this film.

Almost every major Kollywood hero has tasted success when he has played a dual role. Unit sources reveal that the dual role played by Jeeva in this film will be equally memorable and unique.

The film is touted to be an action entertainer with large doses of comedy. To Jeeva, who has been doing a variety of roles, this will be another feather in his cap. He plays the role of a fish vendor. A three-acre set of a fish market has been constructed for the filming.

Visual effects by Venky are touted be another highlight.

Debutant director Sai Ramani has worked under big names like KR, Sureshkrissna and SP Jananathan.

Shooting for the film will start by June and will take place in the exotic locations of Hyderabad, Vizag, Singapore, Malaysia and a few European countries.

Rakta Charitra… now or never

“He will bounce back”… that’s what a few in the industry had very confidently mentioned to me in person during my visit to Bombay earlier this year.

I didn’t believe it. I thought he was done and out. I would only carry memories of some of those impactful hitting me right on the head stories and even trailers he’d made ever since I started watching his movies in 1990. I still can’t get over the long Shiva trailer (the first one) where he’d only followed the back of Zutshi as he was running from people chasing him to kill him. Just the back of the actor through out the length of the trailer, nothing else. I was hooked. Who was this guy?

Well maybe its time to reaffirm the faith… and if the stills of Rakta Charitra are anything to go by, I’m sold on it. Of course there’s the devil’s distance between mere pictures and the actual movie, but nevertheless I’ve got my blood pumping up again, for I haven’t been grabbed by stills of Ram Gopal Varma’s movies since Company.

Surya’s ‘Rakta Charitra’ outlook!

It is known that Surya has been roped in for Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Rakta Charitra’ to play the role of Maddelacheruvu Suri in the film. The movie’s first look pictures have come out. Surya has been shown in a mass and rough look to suit the real life character of Suri. Surya will be seen deglamorously in the film. However, his role in the film is quite challenging and as equal as the lead role, Vivek Oberoi who is portraying the role of a rebel-turned politician Paritala Ravi.

Rakta Chaitra is being made trilingually and it has two parts ‘Rakta Charitra 1′ and ‘Rakta Charitra 2′. The former part deals with the rise of Paritala Ravi while the latter one deals with how Ravi was trapped in enemies’ plans. According to grapevine, Surya will be seen fuming with the revenge in the film.

Rs.30 Crores budget for ‘Rakta Charitra’

Ram Gopal Varma’s new movie ‘Rakta Charitra’ is being made at a budget of Rs.30 crores if sources are to be believed.

As informed by RGV about the two part movie of the story, it is not clear if the budget is for both the parts put together or just the first part!

With Tamil’s happening star Suriya acting along with Bollywood hero Vivek Oberoi, RGV has not compromised in experimenting their looks, clothes and everything tangible.

Being a master in showing crime related movies on celluloid like ‘Satya’, ‘Company’, ‘Sarkar’ and many more, it would be interesting to see the real life story of Paritala Ravi and Maddelu Cheruvu Suri on celluloid especially in RGV’s style.

Though the initial pictures of the lead actors have come out, the movie is being shot under tight wraps, not leaking any more information. Watch out for this space for more updates.

Vivek doing action again

Vivek Oberoi was over the moon with the mega opening his film Prince received.

While we wondered whether the reception was courtesy the three hot, skimpily clad women he was romancing, Vivek is now looking confident about his once sinking career. After Prince Vivek is shooting for Ram Gopal Verma's Rakta Charitra which is yet another innovation from Ramu. The film will be simultaneously released in three languages -- Tamil, Telegu and Hindi. The film is a five hour film which will be released in two parts with a gap of three months.

Apart from all this, Vivek apparently has now stumbled onto something big. He said ecstatic, "I have got to get into the best shape of my life for this amazing new film I have signed. I need to thank you all for your prayers and good wishes!Your magic is working." Vivek is not revealing anything further but with his excitement clearly indicates to something big. Priyamani with Surya for Rakta Charitra

Southern Belle Priyamani is going places. After her work in Ravana withMani Ratnam, now she will be seen in Ram Gopal Verma’s Rakta Charitra. She will be paired with Surya who is already a part of the cast and is playing a parallel important role in the film.

‘Rakta Charitra’ to be simultaneously made in Hindi as well as Tamil and Surya’s co-star for this movie will be Vivek Oberai.

“The film’s shooting would be held at a stretch but the release would be in two parts which would be spaced out over three months,” Varma is reported to have said. He is going to call the films Rakta Charitra I and Rakta Charitra II.

Rakta Charitra is supposed to be based on the slain political leader Paritala Ravindra. The first part is scheduled for a 2010 release with Viviek Oberoi in the lead and will co-star Shatrughan Sinha, Raj Babbar and Radhika Apte. Tamil actor Surya Sivakumar will play the role of Ravi’s assassin Maddelacheruvu Suri in both the parts.

Radhika Apte speaks on Raktha Charitra

Radhika Apte is the debut heroine of the multiple National Award winning Bengali film, Antaheen. (No, she did not get any National Award.) Now the lady is all set to make her Bollywood debut with RGV’s Raktha Charitra opposite Vivek Oberoi.

Raktha Charitra is based on the life of Paritala Ravi, a prime suspect in many murders.Radhika Aptewill play the role of Paritala Ravi’s wife in the film. The film is a trilingual (Hindi, Telugu and Tamil).

“We haven’t finished shooting RC yet. It should get done by May. Ramu is fantastic and I’m lucky to have been cast in this film. He has immense clarity and works at great pace. His style of film-making is completely different from that of Aniruddha’s,” she said to a leading English daily.

“I knew about Paritala Ravi before I was approached for the movie. I’m playing Paritala Ravi’s wife. I haven’t met her in real life. Ramu has. He has also narrated stories about her. Besides, there is some footage available on her that I needed to study to ensure that my on-screen look comes close to hers,” she added.

Interestingly, Tamil star Suriya has also been cast in a pivotal role in the film!

Exclusive first look on Enthiran - The Robot !

Shankar starts Rajini's Eanthiran - The Robot shooting in style. The first official publicity design has been released through the media with the posters being put up in almost all the cities of the state.

The important aspect that we came to know through the design is Rajini's appearance without his manly mustache. But an insider from Shankar's camp reveals that the director is having some novel ideas to show Rajini in a completely different style which is to be a revelation to Superstar Rajini's fans.

For the first time in the history of Rajini's films, the heroine's name also equally appears in the publicity designs with Rajinikanth.

Official sources from Shankar's camp confirmed that it is Rajini himself who asked the director to give equal importance to the heroine Aishwarya Rai also.

Her name has been discussed for Rajini's leading lady from the days of Padayappa, but it has finally come true only in Enthiran – The Robot. So Rajini asked the director to give equal importance to the former Miss Universe and numero uno among Indian female artists.

According to the original story (written by Sujatha), there are two powerful characters in the film. The yet to disclosed secret is that our superstar is going play both the roles, one is the human and the other one to be a powerful robot.

The name of the heroine in this film is Nila and there will be an important character to entertain the children. It is Jeano, the Machine Dog with the sense power of the humans.

RAJINI STYLE INTACT IN ENDHIRAN

Enthiran is gearing up for release in a couple of months and post production work is progressing steadfastly. It has been well-publicized thatRajinikanth will play a scientist as well as a robot that he creates in Endhiran.

Sun Pictures to Produce Superstar’s “ENDHIRAN”

Chennai, 17th Dec 2008... SUN TV Network Ltd One of India’s largest entertainment conglomerate today announced that it would be producing the movie titled “ENDHIRAN (The ROBOT)”. “ENDHIRAN” is India’s biggest project in terms of grandeur, splendor and Star Cast. It is Superstar Rajinikanth’s next live action movie.

This Multi crore project is to be directed by Shankar, Music is byAR Rahman and Aishwarya Rai stars along with Rajinikanth.

The film will be released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and other languages by the end of next year.

Sun Pictures, the movie division of Sun TV Network Limited will be handling the production.

This project promises to be the first of its kind in terms of CG (Computer Graphics), Special effects and Stunt Sequences. Top Notch technicians from Hollywood are being roped in for this movie making this project truly global.

Rajni's political punches in Enthiran

What is a Rajini film without ‘punch dialogues’? Who can forget the famous lines uttered by the superstar in his blockbuster Batsha? Keeping that tradition in mind director Shankar incorporated a few punch lines in his Sivaji featuring the superstar and now ‘Enthiran: The Robot’ too will have its share of super punches.

The highlight of all those dialogues, it is said, would be the dialogue uttered by Rajni which goes like this:

‘Arthasasthiram Unga Vazhi; Dharmasasthiram En Vazhi’ [meaning you follow the Arthasasthra (ancient book on politics) while I follow the Dharma Sasthra (rule of honesty)].

The film reportedly has many politically-coloured punch dialogues as well as ‘political lyrics’. Most of the ‘punch dialogues’ would be uttered by the Robot Rajni and not the actual (scientist) Rajni. Besides these, a hot lyric penned by Naa Muthukumar would also be present in the film which would take to task the present political system in the country.

'Enthiran delayed by Aishwarya Rai?

It is learnt that Rajnikanth’s upcoming film ‘Enthiran: The Robot’ is getting delayed because of the call sheet problems of Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan. It is said that the former Ms. World is not able to turn up for the project, as she has been shooting round-the-clock for Maniratnam’s bilingual ‘Raavan’.

‘Enthiran’, billed as the most expensive Indian film ever to have been made, had a late start apparently due to Aishwarya for whose call-sheet the Unit had to wait. After canning a couple of duets abroad, Ash again went to shoot for Maniratnam’s ‘Raavan’. Not wanting to waste any further time, director Shankar shot in major cities sequences not requiring Ash’s presence.

Unit sources say that a song sequence and some more sequences featuring the lead pair remained to be shot. At a recent function, superstar Rajnikanth said that ‘Enthiran’ might be releasing in July;

it might not release in July, if one has to go by the call-sheet problems that Ash and the Unit have to put up with.

The final schedule, it is expected, might get rolling in a few days’ time. Director Shankar reportedly wanted to make the film a 3-dimensional affair but it now remains doubtful whether he would have time on his side to do so.

It is believed that if the July deadline is not met, the film would most probably be a Deepavali bonanza for the millions of Rajni fans!

The opportunity of acting with Rajinikanth in ‘Endhiran’ might just propel the talented Santhanan to absolute stardom.

Enthiran in 3D?

Yes. Director Shankar is planning a 3D version of the magnum opus ‘Endhiran’ to pre-empt any piracy attempt.

After the unpleasant episode in ‘Jaggubhai’, where the full length film was leaked on the internet even before it came out of the processing lab, Shankar is trying each and every way to plug the holes.

Today all major films are happening under strict vigilance by competent persons. Mani Ratnam has appointed managers at each point where the works for ‘Raavan’ is happening.

So in a no holds barred attempt to make the audience watch ‘Endhiran’ only at theaters, Shankar is even contemplating to convert a part of ‘Endhiran’ film into a 3D version. He has already started consultations to this effect with the experts on the economics of converting the film into a 3D film.

The demo version of ‘Endhiran’ in 3D was shown to Shankar by an effects company and he is awfully impressed with the result. So the chances to see ‘Endhiran’ wearing the 3D spectacles are great.

Enthiran updates

Enthiran has been in the media talk for the past 3 years! Ever since Rajni completed his blockbuster Sivaji which turned out to be a blockbuster hit, fans have been wanting and waiting for Rajni?s most expensive project Enthiran.

If rumours are to be believed, Enthiran will only release on Diwali this year!

Enthiran is currently under shooting phase and Rajni, Aishwarya and the rest of the team are staying at Chennai to finish up the pending shots and tie up the loose ends so that the movie could progress to post production stage.

Current situation is that Enthiran still has a few fight scenes to be completed filming. Also, there are some shots yet to be completed for one of the songs featuring Rajni and Aishwarya. Sources reveal that the shots to be taken are of Aishwaya and will be completed end of this month. Fight sequences are being filmed in Chennai and Peter Hein is hard at work to perfect every punch.

AR Rahman is currently doing up the background score for the completed shots and Aishwarya is shooting not only for Enthiran but also for Mani Ratnam?s Raavan. Shankar?s budget seem to be hitting a new high as well because he is now focusing at least half the move to incorporate 3D effects.

Sources reveal that such extensive 3D work will take close to 4 months to be completed. Shankar is especially careful after Radaan Productions Jaggu Bhai was released on the Net even before post production works were completed. This is the prime reason why the movie is delayed till Diwali.

Bale Pandiya will be a family entertainer Director Siddarth

Bale Pandiya marks the debut directorial of designer Siddarth of Mithra Media. With most of the recent releases turning to be either a completely exceptional ones or a clichéd commercial film, director Siddarth admits that ‘Bale Pandiya’ will be unusual entertainer with an interesting screenplay. Former cricketer turned actor Vishnu, who made his debut with ‘Vennila Kabadi Kulu’ takes on the lead role while ‘Goa’ fame Piyaa stars opposite him in female lead role. Amar and Gibran have donned the negative roles, whose characterizations are reported to be a uniquely highlighting factor in this film.

Says Siddarth: ‘This will be a feel-good romantic action entertainer with lots of entertainment elements. The complete second half is based on the protagonist’s run on pursuit of baddies and Vishnu had to run nearly 100Kms during the film’s shoot….’

Piaa banks on 'Bale Pandiya'

Piaa Bajpai, who has done some supporting roles in Ajit’s ‘Aegan’ and later in Venkatprabhu’s ‘Goa’, is on a high as ‘Bale Pandiya’, her first film as a ‘solo’ heroine, is all set to scorch the screens within a few days’ time. She also starred in the film ‘Poi Solla Porom’ by Vijay which did reasonably well but didn’t land up many offers in her kitty.

Pia has written in her face book that she’s extremely happy and thrilled about the impending release of ‘Bale Pandiya’.

Though a newcomer in Devan Ekambaram has scored the music, all the songs have turned out really nice and foot-tapping, she claims. Piaa attended the film’s audio-launch, held in Chennai’s Sathyam Cinemas a couple of days ago.

Fashion designer Siddharth debuts as director with ‘Bale Pandiya’, which has been produced by Kalpathi Agoram. Piaa pairs up with Vishnu of ‘Vennila Kabadikuzhu’ fame in this film, said to be a romantic comedy entertainer.

Bale Pandiya Music by Devan Ekambaram

Popular playback singer Devan Ekambaram is being introduced as Music director in the movie Bale Pandiya. Though he was born and brought up in the United States of America, his love for Tamil cinema and music has brought him to India.

He first song under the direction of A.R. Rahman in the movie “Kadalar Dinam”. The song “O Maria” brought him a lot of fame. He has been singing playback for the last 10 yrs and has not only sung in Tamil but also in Telugu and Hindi movies.

He has also composed some music albums in Tamil, and Telugu. He has also performed on stage with many popular playback singers including SPB, Unnikrishnan, Anuradha Sriram, Malayasia Vasudevan, Mano, Hariharan and others.

His talents not only stop with music, he is also a good actor having acted in the movies “Parthiban Kanavu”, “ Unnalae Unnalae” and “Jeyam Kondaan”.

Piaa is excited about 'Bale Pandiya'

Piaa Bajpai, who has got the opportunity to play a solo heroine in ‘Bale Pandiya’, is quite excited. The movie, which is all set to hit the screens within a few days’ time, has made her quite happy.

The net savvy girl has written in her face book that she’s extremely happy and thrilled about the impending release of ‘Bale Pandiya’. Piaa paired up with Vishnu of ‘Vennila Kabadikuzhu’ fame.

Bale Pandiya director Siddarth shoots song with 20 playback singers

Designer Siddarth doesn’t need an introduction as his fabulous publicity designs have fetched him enormous honors.

Marking his debut directorial with ‘Bale Pandiya’, the designer-turned-filmmaker has carved a niche by shooting a song sequence with 20 playback singers. Well, it’s obvious that coming up with such innovative motifs is a novel concept, but how far it can be turned into a reality.

Says Siddarth: “Many would look at picture and ask ‘Why’ and I would humbly look at the same picture and reply ‘Why Not?’ Incisively, my producers strongly believed that I can execute this concept with perfection.”

This song ‘Happy’ featuring 20 playback singers was shot across the exotic locales of Pondicherry for 4 continuous days. Haricharan, Devan Ekambaram, Naresh Iyer, Naveen Madhav, Paravai Munniamma, Malaysia Vasudevan, Ranjith, Aalaap Raju, Raqueeb Alam, Anuradha Sriram, Srinivas, Velu Murugan, Manikkavinayagam, Mukesh, Malagudi Shuba, Divya Vijay, Anitha, Suchitra, Karthik, Vijay Yesudas and Rahul Nambiar have crooned and acted in this song.

Director Siddarth speaks about Bale Pandiya

Bale Pandiya is a film directed by Siddarth who is a popular ad designer; He is also the grandson of the oldest director R S Mani. This film which is being produced by A G S Entertainment has Vishnu and Pia in the lead roles.

Amar and Gibran are the villains of the film. The director while speaking to the media said,” You can say that Bale Pandiya is a wholesome entertainer. There is so much romance, friendship, action and emotions in this film. The hero and the villains took great risks while acting in the stunt scenes.

If I have to speak about Vishnu, I wish to say that in the second half he will be running after the villain. He would have run at least 100 kms. During the climax scenes he sustained lot of injuries. But even without bothering about the injuries he cooperated and acted well.

All the fighting scenes in this film will entice the audience. Another specialty about this film is that Devan Ekambaram who had sung the song O Maria has also composed the music for this film. The lyrics are penned by Vaali, Thamarai and Dr Burson from Malaysia. All the songs will cheer the audience.”

'Bale Pandiya' Audio Launch by Unit Members

Doing things in a different way has become a habit for popular publicity designer Siddharth, who has taken the avatar of a director with ‘Bale Pandiya’.

At the audio launch function of the film in Chennai Sunday, he brought smile on many a face with his novel ideas.

In what could be called as a contrast to the tradition, the filmmaker invited 18 of his unit members (people who help in production activities) to hand over the audio CDs to celebrities on stage, in an attempt to honour them for their contribution to the movie.

Then came a session to honour singers, when 14 popular playback singers performed live on stage to the tunes composed by their good friend Devan Ekambaram, who is the music director of ‘Bale Pandiya’.

There were also interesting speeches from the invitees including lyricists Vaali and Thamarai, Tamil Film Producers Council Rama Narayanan, actor-director R Parthiban, directors S P Jananathan, ‘Jayam’ Raja, Chimbu Devan and Vijay among others.
